Holly Ziegenhorn

WWIR Pillar Director Warriors

& 1st Responders

Holly Ziegenhorn has six children and 12 grandchildren and was born and raised in Utah but resided in Tacoma, Washington when her three oldest children were very young with their father who was stationed there as an Army Combat Soldier. While there, and prior to her law enforcement career, Holly worked as an administrative assistant for a few different law firms. Holly Ziegenhorn is a survivor of child sexual abuse and never knew that this traumatic adverse childhood experience would one day be the catalyst to opening so many doors that would allow her to reach out to and love many from all walks of life. Holly has always taken a stand in fighting for those who are considered “at risk,” “different”, or “less fortunate.”

Holly has been recognized as someone who loves unconditionally and gives selflessly both on and off the clock.  Holly served honorably as a police officer for 23 years retiring in April of 2021.  Holly served on the West Valley City Police’s SWAT Team for 6 years and was the 1st female officer to try out for and make the SWAT Team.  During her law enforcement career, Holly was recognized globally for her investigative skills with cargo theft, however her fondest memories have been the ones where she was able to walk in partnership with someone and assist them in healing their trauma by shedding shame, stepping into forgiveness, and claiming their worth. Holly also worked part-time with Granite School District as a Behavioral Specialist Technician (BST) for Granite’s Alternative Placement Program (GAPP), a teacher of their Law Enforcement Class at Hunter High School and Granite Peaks, as well as worked at Whittier Elementary School as a Teacher’s Aide for the Reach Out & Catch A Kid (R.O.C.K.) Grant.
